Shooting Day 2015

Elisabeth must be blessed by a lucky star. Working alongside her, I’ve learned to truly make the most of every encounter and experience we have.

She makes something special of every moment we share with our clients, our suppliers, and any businesspeople or artists, continually enriching the Ivoy atmosphere.

One of the many lovely encounters we’ve had was this one with an extraordinary artist: Mélonie Foster Hennessy.

An American who has lived in Paris for twenty years now, she is the woman that Elisabeth has trusted for years to photograph and set the ambiance for our collections. She uses a very particular technique, inspired by the “clair-obscur” that painters adored during the Renaissance, and she is especially intrigued by themes of childhood and fairytales. Perfect for Ivoy, is it not?

With her incredible talent, she works to bring each of our dresses into a world of magic and enchantment, giving them a dreamy life of their own.

So you can imagine my joy (and my impatience) as the day of our shoot approached!

Step 1: Fully immerse each dress in a story. So, we search for the most whimsical and fantastic props, from antique toys and jewelry to flowers and feathers, or even as far as an unconventional crow or little stuffed toy mice.

Step 2: The photography. None of this would be possible without the candidness and professionalism of our charming model Ariane. Amidst the ephemeral world we work to create for every model, she utilizes the unique props and enacts an authentic character, bringing her own ideas and imagination to the set. Mélonie gently guides her in order to capture the perfect moment, the perfect movement, the perfect dream.

For Elisabeth, this is an especially poignant moment; she can see her creations finally come to life. I constantly wonder at the creative eviagraforsale process and limitless imagination that goes into every shoot.

I can safely say that working for a fashion house like Ivoy is an absolute pleasure. Mélonie is still working on the photographs, but here is a glimpse of some of the raw versions of her work. Aren’t they marvelous?

We cannot wait to see the final products of her wonderful photography, but just as Rome was not built in a day, it takes time and we will have to wait a bit longer!

I will be sure to post the pictures as soon as we have them!

Now it’s time to embark on our next adventure: the preparation for our first big exposition in Florence, the preeminent Pittibimbo. Exciting adventures, delightful encounters and more incredible discoveries: another big step forward for Ivoy Paris.

A très bientôt,

Lucile
