The Proud and Strong Centre
Today, I want to talk to you about a project that’s very special to me – “The Proud and Strong Centre” for underprivileged children in the village of Tamesloht, about 23km from Marrakech.
For the past 10 years, I have spent about half my time in Morocco, so it’s a place that has become integral to my professional and personal life.
The initiative began in 2004, led by Madou, one of my aunts. It all began in a small, poor house in the village that was then transformed into a shelter. In 2014, thanks to generous donations and a sale to La Mamounia that Tajan was able to organize, the centre became the incredible place it is today.

For 105 underprivileged children in the Marrakech region, the centre is able to provide:
- A home and shelter for those who are the most marginalized
- Food
- Schooling
- Personal development and social integration through classes in art, music, gardening, animal care, sports, and theatre
- Regular visits from doctors and psychologists
- Support for their families
